With over 100 undergraduate programs to choose from at Wilfrid Laurier University, you’re sure to find the program that’s perfect for you. To help get you thinking about what to study in university, here’s a list of some of the most popular programs at Laurier plus some hidden gems that are worth considering.

Popular program: Computer Science

We know that students are looking for options to study computer science. That’s why Laurier offers it at all three of our campuses! We also have Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree options, as well as double degree programs in computer science and business. Or you can study computer science along with physics, psychology, or game design and development. There are so many ways to pursue a computer science degree at Laurier.

Hidden gem: Data Science

Focus on math, statistics and computer science by studying data science. Through the program, you’ll learn how to extract meaningful information from the vast amounts of technological information (or big data) that is constantly produced. And the rising demand for data-oriented professionals means you’ll graduate ready for a rewarding career.

Popular program: Business Administration

A business degree will provide so many career options for you, so it’s no surprise that Laurier’s Business Administration (BBA) program is so popular with students. Taught through the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, the BBA program offers a broad business education and the opportunity to choose from 10 business concentrations in your upper years. As well, BBA students can apply to participate in the largest business co-op program in Canada.

Hidden gem: Business Technology Management

Business Technology Management (BTM) focuses on the intersection of business fundamentals and cutting-edge technology and is taught through the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. The program also offers competitive-entry co-op in the largest business co-op program in Canada. And beginning in September 2025, the program will be offered on our Milton campus.

Popular program: User Experience Design

UX professionals are ranked among the top 10 best jobs and are in demand in a variety of industries, including finance, medicine, education and more. In the user experience design program, you’ll work to solve real-world issues, get hands-on training in all elements of UX design, and be eligible to apply for a 12-to-16-month co-op placement.

Hidden gem: Game Design and Development

Learn to create video games, board games, and escape rooms and build skills in creativity, writing, visual design, and more through the innovative game design and development program. You’ll learn to make games that matter as you build your portfolio, engage in hands-on learning opportunities and work closely with faculty members who have game design experience.

Popular program: Criminology

Criminology is the flagship program at Laurier’s Brantford campus, with students studying in the program for 25 years. The program takes an interdisciplinary approach and weaves together law, psychology, and sociology for a rewarding academic experience.

Hidden gem: BA in Criminology and LLB (law) degree

If you’re interested in criminology, be sure to explore the option to also get your law degree at the same time. Through Laurier’s partnership with the University of Sussex in the U.K., you can get your bachelor’s degree and a law degree in only six years.

Popular program: A Bachelor of Arts degree in an arts program

Explore 25 programs in Laurier’s Faculty of Arts and choose from a variety of meaningful, rewarding subjects. Or consider the programs in the Faculty of Liberal Arts for more options. However you choose to pursue your arts degree, there are so many options, including a double major; adding a minor or an option; graduate degree pathways; and so much more.

Hidden gem: A Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master’s degree

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is a great option, but so is applying to both a bachelor degree program and a master’s program at the same time! If you’re interested in graduate studies, consider applying for a BA and Master of Arts (MA), BA and Master of International Public Policy (MIPP), or BA and Master of Applied Politics (MAP) at Laurier. There’s also an option to apply for a BA and an MBA! When you get your offer to the BA program, you’ll also get a conditional offer to the master’s program, so you can plan for all your education and career goals.
